Dune Part 2 Trailer Breakdown: Why It Was Split Into Two Films
The first Dune: Part Two trailer has come and is magnificent. Dune: Part Two, which Denis Villeneuve yet again helmed, follows the story of Timothée Chalamet‘s character Paul Atreides and his time spent in the desert world of Arrakis. The date of release is set for November 3.
What Happened in Dune Part 1?
The movie opens with a planet named Maracas, which is enriched with Spice, which can be used to enhance technology and heal for immortality. The Emperor is behind all of the destruction and has ordered House Harkonnen to extract the Spice from Maracas. Duncan Idaho is an outstanding pilot and swordsman, and Paul is a future ruler of house Atratus. Jessica and Paul travel to Erikine, a stronghold held by House Harkonnen, and are attacked by a robotic bee. Lido learns of the dangers of harvesting spice and helps rescue its crew during a sandworm attack.
Ewa replaces one of Lido’s teeth with a poison gas capsule to kill the baron. Idaho steals an ornithopter, but Paul and Jessica are captured and killed by their captors. Paul and Jessica spend the night in a tent baron being treated for poisonous gas. Arakis hands over command of Arakis to his British nephew Rabbin, who orders him to sell spice reserves and restart spice production. Paul and Jessica escape with the help of an ornithopter and meet freemen Stilger and Shawnee, who distract the sandworms by producing a low-frequency voice.
Paul had a vision in which he saw himself fighting a war alongside the people of Auracus, but his eyes were blue. Emperor wanted to destroy House Atratus to conquer the infinite universe with the help of spice. Gurney is still alive due to not seeing him dying.
Dune Part 2 Trailer Breakdown
The Dune Part 2 Trailer begins with Paul and Chani joking about Paul’s first attempt to ride a sandworm and teases that at the end of the movie, Paul will be able to call a sandworm and write it on his own.
The movie is meant to be more book accurate than the Sci-Fi mini-series, and Chani becomes a much more giant monster. Zendaya and Paul Atriedes develop a relationship, and Lady Jessica argues with Paul to help them survive the Hawaii attack.
Selusa Secundus, the emperor’s daughter, eventually makes her way to Arrakis and is seen in his court. The most critical details in this text are that Princess Irulan’s father, Emperor Shaddam IV, is being played by Christopher Walken and that the conflict that plays out through the movie was orchestrated by the emperor.
Paul Atriedes is the Second Son of Leto Atreides and Baron Harkonnen had orchestrated a plot to kill the Duke, leading to the death of his first son and his first Legal Wife. Lady Margot Fenrig, a member of the Bene Gesserit, is watching fate as part of her mission to seduce Paul and get his genetic material.
Stilgar isn’t impressed with Paul but understands that he can learn their ways. Paul Atriedes is a potential quitsat’s cataract and his one job is to lead Humanity on the golden path. He drinks the Water of Life to amplify his powers, but the story is focused on the immediate problem of the war between Paul the Freen and the Harkonnens and the emperor.
The trailer for the movie reveals that there are other potential prospects out there in the universe, such as Paul’s sister who gains the same powers when Jessica takes the water of life. The next big thing is Paul learning the ways of the freemen, starting his relationship with Chani, helping teach the Benad Jesuit secret fighting techniques, and orchestrating his original plan to cease hostility between the Harkonnens and the emperor. The movie is not coming out until November, so it will be a while before we get the following trailer.
