Cannes 2023: Cannes Film Festival kicks off…
The Indian government was granted a significant role at the Cannes Film Festival the previous year. On the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day, a large number of Indian celebrities attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Many famous people took part in the event, including Pa. Ranjith, Deepika Padukone, Tamannaah, Pooja Hegde, Madhavan, and Aditi Rao. Also, this year’s Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16 to May 27.
What makes the Cannes Awards unique?
The Cannes Film Festival’s awards ceremony is the most renowned worldwide after the Oscars. The centerpiece of the yearly awards event held in Cannes, France, is the Palme d’Or (Palm d’Or).

Since Gilles Jacob founded the Cinéfondation in the 1990s to encourage the production of motion pictures, the Cannes Film Festival has become a part of French tradition. In 2004, restored historical films from the Festival were screened as Cannes Classics, and in 2014, Pierre Lescure took over as President, and Thierry Frémaux was named General Delegate. The COVID-19 outbreak forced a postponement of the event in 2020. In 2022, the festival refused to grant press credentials to Russian journalists working for publications that supported the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, made a video appearance on the festival’s opening night and spoke about the conflict and the role that film had played in it.
The price of going to Cannes 2023 could range from anything from $6,100 to $25,000. Those with credentials can use the official website’s online ticket office, while those who want free admission can go to open-air showings at the Cinéma de la Plage each night starting at 9:30 pm.

Interestingly, numerous celebrities will represent India at the Cannes Film Festival this year as well. On the occasion of the 75th Cannes Film Festival last year, the French government honored the Indian government. The films chosen for the award presentation were marked at the location where popular Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was honored to serve as a judge.
