Jessica Chastain, an actress, has been cast in the Apple limited series The Savant. Variety claims that the show was influenced by a real-life incident that was featured in Cosmopolitan in August 2019.

The Cosmopolitan piece tells the tale of a real woman who has earned the nickname “the Savant” as she infiltrates hate groups online to assist in preventing widespread public attacks. Plot specifics for the series are being kept under wraps.

The Fifth Season and Anonymous Content are the creators of the series. Under the terms of her general contract with Fifth Season, Melissa James Gibson (Anatomy of a Scandal, The Americans) will work as a writer, executive producer, and director. A Private War, Retrograde director, and executive producer Matthew Heineman will handle both roles.
Through Freckle Films, Chastain will executive produce in addition to acting.

Chastain’s performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye earned her the best actor Oscar in 2022. She has previously received nominations for The Help and Zero Dark Thirty. She also starred in The Good Nurse, Armageddon Time, Molly’s Game, Interstellar, and A Most Violent Year, among other well-known movies.

The plot of “The Savant”

In order to stop violent assaults and mass killings, a deep-cover detective infiltrates online hate organizations in a new limited series coming to Apple TV+, the company revealed yesterday.

Eight segments of “The Savant,” starring Jessica Chastain, are planned. The series is based on a true tale that Cosmopolitan writer Andrea Stanley, who will advise on the Apple TV+ series, released in 2019.

Release information is still pending.

The degree to which the series will resemble the Cosmopolitan tale was not disclosed by Apple, in its press statement.
The business stated in the release that “the plot and character specifics are under wraps.”
