Kathal Movie Review
The movie takes place in the little hamlet of Moba, wherein sub-inspector Mahima recently had success in apprehending a criminal who had been charged with several offenses. Constable Saurabh, her lover, seems unconcerned that Mahima is his senior officer. A local MLA invites Mahima and her higher police one lovely day to investigate the theft of two unusual Uncle Hong jackfruits from his yard. Mahima is assigned the responsibility for leading the inquiry, and the search for two absurdly huge fruits and their thieves begins. Yashowardhan Mishra, who also serves as the film’s director, and Ashok Mishra deserve praise for creating a strong sarcastic comedy, which is hard to come by in the Hindi film industry.
The story flows from one idea to the next without feeling jarring at any time. At no time does the narration appear forced; rather, the humor works perfectly with the storyline. The film’s humor gives the predicament of women in the twenty-first century an additional layer of grim truth. Women are shamed into not taking advancements because they fear being disgraced by their families and society if they hold a higher position at work than their husbands. The caustic humor fits wonderfully as the local reporter is similarly marginalized by strong local leaders. Although the second part of the screenplay featured errors, the film’s plot benefited from the meandering.
The script by Mahima and Saurabh is a unique tale that combines caste politics, power politics, and journalistic reporting on the ground. Yashowardhan Mishra and Ashok Mishra accomplished a fantastic job of telling a unique narrative while allowing the authors to incorporate caste, power, and in-depth media politics.
Mahima and Saurabh’s relationships go through ups and downs because of their jobs, but they have a greater awareness of what they mean to each other. This gives both Mahima and Saurabh fantastic arcs. The police only serve the wealthy, and political leaders think the police are only there to serve their needs. As a result, they are both disconnected from reality. Mahima and Saurabh’s relationships go through ups and downs because of their jobs, but they have a greater awareness of what they mean to each other. This gives the characters Mahima and Saurabh fantastic arcs.
Mahima is a character played by Sanya Malhotra who is just concerned with doing what is right. Anant Joshi’s boyfriend, Saurabh, is Saurabh’s senior officer and does a good job of showing Mahima that he takes the job of a police officer seriously. In the Hindi region, Vijay Raaz & Raghubir Yadav are both dependable performers who excel in their respective parts. As Anuj, a part-time journalist who isn’t afraid to challenge the current quo, Rajpal Yadav surprises as a journalist.
Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery has a strong plot and strong acting, keeping the viewer interested all the way through. Despite its logical flaws, the movie enthralls viewers by demonstrating how police officers are political serfs. Kathal is a film that the whole family may enjoy without worrying about porn or kissing scenes.
