Naatu Naatu: Not South Indian actor, Lauren Gottlieb will perform at Oscars

Naatu Naatu: The biggest day of the year for Hollywood is finally here! The 95th Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, is set to take place in Los Angeles on March 12. While the world’s eyes are fixed on the event, Hollywood’s stars are busy prepping up for the big night.

This year’s Oscars has a special surprise in store – South Superstar is not going to be the only performer. Actress and dancer Lauren Gottlieb will also be taking the stage to perform on the song ‘Naatu Naatu’.

The worldwide phenomenon of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ continues to dominate headlines even after the movie’s release more than a year ago. The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film is even in the running to be performed live at the Oscars ceremony, showcasing the extraordinary power of Rajamouli’s work.

Fans of the upcoming Telugu film RRR were in for a treat when it was announced that actress Lauren Gottlieb will be performing live on the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ at an upcoming event. This had the fans excited to watch Ram Charan and Jr NTR perform on the track. However, it will now be Gottlieb who will be taking centerstage to perform on the song.

The actress took to Instagram to share the news with her fans and expressed her excitement. She posted pictures of herself with the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, and wrote, “I am about to perform Natu Natu at the Oscars. I am very much looking forward to representing India at the most prestigious platform in the world.”

Lauren Gottlieb had her fans in raptures when she shared some exciting news on social media. Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani was among the first to congratulate her, tweeting, “Wow Lauren! This is a big deal.” Other celebrities and her followers also sent her their best wishes.

Who is Lauren Gottlieb?

Lauren Gottlieb is an Indian actress, dancer, and model. She is best known for her roles in Bollywood films such as ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, ABCD 2, and Welcome to New York.

Gottlieb began her career as a dancer and model. In 2007, Lauren Froderman emerged victorious in the popular television dance competition, “So You Think You Can Dance”. She has also appeared in music videos and commercials for brands such as Pepsi and Nokia.

Gottlieb made her feature film debut with the Bollywood dance film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance in 2013. She was praised for her performance and went on to star in the sequel, ABCD 2 in 2015. The same year, she made her debut in the comedy Welcome to New York.

Gottlieb has also been part of several TV shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. She has also performed on stage shows and appeared on the cover of several magazines.

“Naatu Naatu – A Phenomenon Across the Globe”

“Naatu Naatu”, the peppy Telugu-language song composed by M. M. Keeravani, is taking the world by storm. Complemented by Chandrabose’s lyrics, the song recorded by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, is the second single from the soundtrack album of the 2022 Indian blockbuster RRR.

The song was also given a new life in different languages, such as “Naacho Naacho” in Hindi, “Naattu Koothu” in Tamil, “Halli Naatu” in Kannada and “Karinthol” in Malayalam. The dance sequence featuring N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan together has created a sensation among the audience.

The incredible success of “Naatu Naatu” is making waves globally, as it becomes the first Indian song to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Moreover, it grabbed the Best Original Song award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, making it the first Indian as well as the first Asian song to win the award.

The lyrical video of “Naatu Naatu” was released on 10 November 2021, followed by the full video song featuring visuals from the film on 11 April 2022. The song is fast becoming a favorite across the globe and has proved to be a major winner.
