UnfoldedNow Rating: 4.5/5

When it comes to Kannada cinema, in the last few years, artists like Rocking Star Yash, Rakshit Shetty, Rishabh Shetty, and Rashmika Mandanna have emerged. Rakshit, accompanied by director Pawan Kumar, Anup Bhandari, Prashant Neel, Hemant M. Rao, Manjunath Somasekhar Reddy (Mansoor), Rishab Shetty, and Raj B. Shetty, has started a wave of film production in the Kannada film industry. Through his unconventional work, he has established himself as one of the leading filmmakers in the Kannada film industry. Ever since Pan India, films have come into trend. Since then, regional films have also reached the Hindi audience. While some Pan India films prove to be milestones, some films were not even known when they were released.

Recently, Rakshit Shetty’s film Sapta Sagardache Elo (Side B) was released in theaters. The way the film has been made makes it even more special. Actually, love stories have always been my favorite genre. The way Hemant Rao has told the story of the film is praiseworthy.

Story-

After returning from jail after 10 years, Manu (Rakshit Shetty) is in love with Priya (Rukmini Vasanth). The now-worn cassette tape is his favorite memento of his past life. Due to which he keeps refreshing his old memories. Manu keeps listening to some songs sung by Priya. Manu’s former prisoner friend Prakasha (Gopal Krishna Deshpande) helps him start a new life.

Manu, who is haunted by memories of Priya, meets Surbhi (Chaitra J. Achar), a sex worker. Manu tries to find Priya in Surbhi. Surbhi is not like Priya; she proves this time and again.

Now Manu wants to see if Priya is living that life now. What she dreamed of and what she deserves Manu follows her, finding out every little thing about her life. When she realizes that she is living a simple life. So he decides to add color to her life again. Manu secretly helps her find love, light, laughter, and, of course, her voice.

Performance-

Like in Side A, Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth have also done excellent acting in Side B. Also, Ramesh has played the role of Indira Villain in the film. Even in the first part, he left an indelible impression on the hearts of the audience with his acting. He returns in the second part as well and gives many new directions to the story. Or, should I say, they disturb the story. Chaitra J. Aachar in Part B has breathed life into the character of Surbhi.

I am very inspired by Rakshit Shetty’s work in the film. I did not expect that Rakshit could act with such intensity. Side A Manu was an enthusiastic person, full of love; Side B Manu is still madly in love. He is half dead inside and half alive outside. Pain for Priya is visible in his eyes on the screen. Rakshit has expressed many emotions through his eyes. He should not be praised enough for this.

Rukmini Vasanth, in Side B, is the mother and wife of a man who has given up on life. Rukmini is as attractive as ever in Side B, too. The saree has replaced her salwar, and her bright smile has been replaced by despair. I thought that there would be a scene in the film where perhaps both of them would meet each other. Especially when he was trying his best to bring happiness into her life again, but it didn’t happen. The two never meet after a scene in Side B.

Gopal Krishna Deshpande, as a caring friend, brings subtle humor to serious scenes. Director Hemanth M. Rao has done good cutting in the film. He has also done his work well. He has made a good sequel film. After watching this, I have become a fan of Hemanth M. Rao and Rakshit Shetty.

Side B has the opposite vibe from the previous film. The script is not fast-paced, but engaging. Cinematographer Advaita Gurumurthy and composer Charan Raj add new dimensions to the story. Charan Raj’s music gradually mesmerizes the audience.

Also, in some scenes, silence speaks louder than words. Advait has made sure that the audience enjoys every inch of his frame. The way his camera has captured the seen and unseen Bengaluru is praiseworthy. If you like watching love story movies, then you can watch the movie.

Final Verdict-

If Side-A is considered a one-sided love letter, then Side-B is a suitable answer to that love letter. Even if you’ve seen Side A, or even if you haven’t, you can still see Side B in theaters. You can watch the movie to learn how life becomes complete for Manu and Priya. Side B is a great story; you can watch the movie to see how far a person can go for love.
