Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Trailer: Marvel Easter Eggs Breakdown
Miles Morales meets a group of Spider-People in the Spider-Verse and reunites with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, neighborly Spider-Man, in the recently released trailer. Let’s break down the trailer here.
Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins with Miles Morales telling the story of the previous several years, he is dressed in the most recent iteration of his Spider-Man outfit. He is currently attempting to complete his education while helping those in his neighborhood. He is exhibiting the typical Spider-Man characteristics of never being early for anything, much like Peter Parker. He runs into Jason Schwartzman’s The Spot, the major antagonist of the film, who can open portals and appear in Spider-Man, an animated series from the 1990s. He humorously inquires as to whether he is a cow.
Miles Morales sees Spider-Man 2099 as an enemy since all the other Spider-Mans from the universe pursue him when he orders a hit on Spider-Man. Miles Morales is blamed for the events in the first movie in the advertisement, which refers to Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness and Kingpin’s reactor interfering with the multiverse. To fix the multiverse, Spider-Man has created the Spider Forces multiverse versions and given them wristwatches to fix all the problems caused by other big movies like The First Spider-Man and The Spider-Verse.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming teaser refers to the Spider-Man film No Way Home starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. All the various characters, including Jessica Drewe, Spider-Woman, and Holby Brown, are animated in a punk rock manner. Ben Riley appears to have leaped off a comic book page, and Spider-Man India can be seen flying about in his reality. Kieren Sony, who portrays Joe Pinder in the Deadpool films, will also appear in live-action in the MCU. The MCU is connecting what transpires in Avengers 5, Qing Dynasty, and Avengers 6 Secret Wars to the events in Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Marvel Easter Eggs Breakdown
You can never join the spider force, as Miguel O’Hara’s Spidey 2099 asserts after blaming Miles Morales for the events of the first movie. The multiverse ramifications and issues the characters have been generating for the past several films are alluded to in the Spider-Man teaser. Mayday Parker approaches him while sporting a baby bonnet that is made to resemble Spider-Man’s mask, and Peter B. Parker arrives to defend him.
She and the version of Peter Parker that ended up dying on her planet are seen in a flashback as Spider-Gwen. Miles Morales tries to fight with all the Spider-Mans about Uncle Ben, but they all try to explain to him that most of them wouldn’t have become Spider-Man if it weren’t for Uncle Ben.
The trailer also contains Easter eggs and allusions, such as the original animation by Ben Riley, the pointing meme, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man call Out. One of my favorite versions in the trailer is the Webslinger-like Widow from Spider-Verse Comics.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse from Sony Pictures, set for release on June 2, would feature an Indian Spider-Man and be available nationwide in 9 Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, etc.
The film will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Bengali in addition to English. Yesterday, the movie’s trailer was released in each of the 9 Indian languages.
