Tooth Pari Series: Shantanu Maheshwari and Tanya Maniktala are all set to take viewers on a thrilling journey with their upcoming Netflix series ‘Tooth Pari’. The first poster of the series was released on Monday, featuring Shantanu as a dentist and Tanya as a patient, with the catchline ‘when love bites’. The first teaser of the series, released by Netflix, hints that Tanya might be playing the role of a vampire.

Television-turned-film actor Shantanu Maheshwari and ‘A Suitable Boy’ fame Tanya Maniktala have been casted as the lead actors in the series. Shantanu and Tanya took to Instagram to share the poster with their fans. In Shantanu’s post, he wrote, “This World Oral Hygiene Day I have a not-so-normal patient coming for check-in on her lost tooth. I am rooting for this love story to happen and so should you! Tooth Pari: When Love Bites coming to @netflix_in on the 20th of April!”.

Tanya shared the same poster with her caption, “It’s the day of World Oral Hygiene. My tooth is nowhere to be seen If you have it, it’s time you come clean. Because I have many ways to be mean. The series ‘Tooth Pari’ is created by Bengali director Pratim Dasgupta and also features Revathy, Sikandar Kher, Adil Hussain, Tillotama Shome and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The plot revolves around Tanya’s broken tooth which brings her to Shantanu’s clinic. When Shantanu attempts to fix it with forceps, a drop of his blood falls into her mouth, causing a satisfied expression to spread across her face.

Shantanu is known for his dancing skills, especially in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ opposite Alia Bhatt, while Tanya rose to fame in Shimit Amin and Mira Nair’s screen adaptation of ‘A Suitable Boy’. Tanya Maniktala – Career

Tanya Maniktala is an Indian actress known for her roles in the web series Flames, A Suitable Boy, Chutzpah, and Feels Like Ishq. She has won an award at the Toronto International Film Festival for her performance in A Suitable Boy. Born on 7 July 1997 in New Delhi, Tanya attended St. Francis De Sales School, Janakpuri for her schooling. She went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Shivaji College, Delhi University. Tanya had interned as a content writer for ‘The Social Rush’ before she decided to pursue her passion for acting.

Tanya Maniktala made her acting debut in 2018 with School Days. She gained recognition with Timeliner’s Flames opposite Ritvik Sahore, the same year. 2020 saw her play Lata Mehra in BBC One’s A Suitable Boy, which was a major career milestone. She also featured in Netflix’s Feels Like Ishq, Sony LIV’s Chutzpah, and Netflix’s How To Fall In Love. Maniktala will make her Hindi film debut with Mumbaikar starring Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey. She also stars in Pratim D Gupta’s Untitled next opposite Shantanu Maheshwari, and in web series P.I. Meena and Flames Season 3.

Shantanu Maheshwari – Career

Shantanu Maheshwari is an Indian actor, dancer, choreographer, and host. He was born on 7 March 1991 in Kolkata, India. His mother identified his talent for dance when he was 8 years old and encouraged him to pursue it. In his childhood, Shantanu was an avid badminton player. He attended The Park English School in Kolkata for his schooling and later went to St. Joseph’s College for high school. For his graduation, he moved to Mumbai and enrolled in H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.

Shantanu’s breakthrough performance was as the protagonist Swayam Shekhawat in the show Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V. In 2017, he emerged as the winner of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8. He is known for his powerful performances and has earned a lot of praise from critics and fans alike. He is a true inspiration for aspiring actors and dancers.
