5. Incantation

2. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum
We have Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum at number two. Gonjiam follows a camera team as they investigate an ancient, deserted asylum. They don’t expect to find anything, yet they are obviously extremely mistaken.
In the Korean found footage movie Gonjiam, the asylum itself plays the creepiest role of all. Although it doesn’t add anything new to the genre, it succeeds by just being terrifying. It’s difficult to remain still in your seat as the movie successfully heightens the tension and creates fear. It’s quite horrifying and well worth seeing.

Iranian-born Babak Anvari, who made his directorial debut with the Persian-language psychological horror movie Under the Shadow, wrote and directed it. Under the Shadow is the top hidden gem horror film available on Netflix. A mother and daughter’s house were hit by a missile, and shortly afterward, it starts to seem strangely haunted.
In its hour-and-a-half running duration, the Persian movie Under the Shadow effectively ramps up the suspense and eerie atmosphere. Although it takes a little while to get going, it’s worth persevering with since it offers an exceptionally high degree of creepiness. One of Netflix’s top Hidden Gems and one of the finest horror flicks overall.
